That said the moment the truth is heard there will be at least a serious civil conflict and a small demo of a few businesses that will do anything to not be sunk let alone punished for war crimes. In Lan's case publicity is the prerequisite for success and survival of his people.

@rmccool: That's why it seems so obvious to me his zombies will NEVER successfully get the message across because of a certain uncertainty of a zombie delivered message combined with wishful thinking/selective hearing/perception, unperceived notions that they intend to get across, the common news practice that i can quote Lan on the page where WW learns to shield his mind... "Please lie the truth is far less interesting" even when its not (i can even tell you from memory Dido was on the hunt for almost all females that Lan knows namely Fury), And bribery of some sort, to many news companies with the same angle on a story leaving out the same select details especially on THE biggest story they'll get in a long time... My guess is indirect bribery, the sources that didn't suffer from too much trauma were clearly paid before interviewers could get to them or the fact that they know anything was hidden (the sensible cop for example). And we know the elf that turned Lan as a child into a weapon is still out there and this all started with his failed attempt to re-enslave him, my bet is he thought Lan still had the slave part of the Deathsong mentality and would end up killing the other Fiveclaws search for a master and come to him and he would trigger it by reminding him of the pain of losing ones family and by doing it while in the employment of an unknowing evil little sister, the pain of betrayal to retrigger the trust no-one, indifference of whom to kill mentality... An idea he may have gotten from a slightly altered event... Hades is a bastard!!
